clear out - what going on
7 months since Pete was suddenly taken and i can actualy say i had a few days when i though i can cope with this and for the first time felt a ittle bit more positive about the situation. i'v spent 2 weeks having a major clear out, but nothing of Pete's i cant move any of his things, its all my things, i have taken 7 bags of my clothes to the Heart foundation charity shop, sorted out bags and bags of christmas, birthday cards i just kept the special ones etc, sheets, towels etc, Make up, Shoes, cant seem to stop throwing things out, i really don't know what going on in my mind,im like something possessed, i cant sit still, but on the other hand im so exhausted, i know our children are worried about me, has any one else had this over whelming feeling to clear out, but really can't move Pete things hugs xx

Hi Karen, i constantly tidy and clear out My things as you say I still at 67 weeks can't and have no intention of moving Alan's belongings. Go with it don't worry too much here is so much going on with us trying to adjust to this crap life( thats being polite ) Take care and a big hug to you xx

Hi Karen

YES, YES, YES!

I'm at one year exactly but went through a spell around 6 - 8 months of doing the same as you. I've actually thrown away some favourite clothes that I'd like to have back now - that was in a frenzy of feeling "I'll never wear fun summer stuff again" so a whole bundle of lovely sandals, Tshirts, swimwwear etc all went to a charity shop.

On Sunday evenings I was like a woman possessed. You see our dustbin collection is on Monday morning and I couldn't wheel the bin out half-full. This meant I wandered around the house for hours looking for anything at all that would fill the up the dustbin - how weird is that? My daughter used to hide things just incase she never saw them again!

This has gradually tailed off and I'm not nearly so bad any more. (Still secretly like to see a full dustbin though!)

Love from a mad woman!

Hi Karen, I have had a huge clear out too, but like you none of C things I just can't. I have given C mum & dad items that I thought they would like, but nothing that was to personal. His things will remain where he left them.

Thinking of you.

Re: clear out - what going on
Six months on and I have started to sort various bits out. Clearing out some of Heather's clothes and other bits. I have at times picked them up and gone to take them out but the invisible force field stopped me. I am slowly getting there. For a while recently I could not even say her name as it was too distressing. My daughter has helped a lot, as have my mother & sister in law. I have a long way to go but will make it. I couldn't even log onto this site for over a month as it was too painful despitethe fact that the people on here are so nice.
All the best to you all. And blokey type hugs!!!!

Hi Karen

I have just seen your post and just had to reply.I am at 13 months and a few months ago I had a frenzy of clearing out things (mine of course) and just after P died I threw away most of my holiday clothes because I did not think that I would ever wear them again. I have sorted out some of his clothes but they still have not made it out of the house as Paddy said " the invisible force field stopped me".
