morning Lianne

I've just looked out the window to see all the snow. I also feel sad. rob loved the snow. we would go out in it and through snow balls at each other. mess around.
its a day for snuggling up with your partner . but we can't do that. That's prob what's so sad about it.

Re: Snow
I know lianne, my phil adored the snow and one of the last truly happy memories i have of him is a saturday before xmas 2010. Wed been told his tumour was shrinking, hed gone back to work full time and was driving again and we were both looking forward to xmas!!

Then it snowed, and snowed and snowed, so we decided to go for a walk in it, less than two minutes into said walk id been snowballed and we spent 20 minutes playing 'who can find the deepest drift and stand in it'!!!! It was one of the most happiest times wed had since we got married!!

How was i to know that 3 weeks later hed hav a massive fit and have to start chemo and 10 months after that leave us forever :( So im going for a walk this morning goin to find the biggest drift possible and jump in it!!!!

Sending u hugs

Re: Snow
same here.
rich loved the snow, he would have been out in it with the boys and my nephew and my sisters hubby this morning, street snowball fights. making snowmen..instead the boys will be out there with everyone but their dad today :(

there will always be times like this though, something that will make us sad and miss them more.

just have to try and plough through it and remember them enjoying life while they lived it.

hugs ladies xxxx

Re: Snow
my hubby used to grit the roads so the first time it snowed here i was out driving and had to pull over as i completely broke down. He was always in high vis clothing due to work so when i am out and about and see fellas in the same stuff its so painful, find myself looking for him.....

Re: Snow
Hello Lianne,

I guess that everyone of us who have snow in our lives have a story about the fun we enjoyed with our partners. It makes me sad sometimes too but after three years I can now always bring back that special 'snow memory' and hold on to it tightly.

Mine was walking in the moonlight with a million stars shining as we held hands. Come to think of it, there were quite a few good snow memories. Nice that they left us with something good to remember about it.
Thanks for reminding me.

Thinking of you

Re: Snow
Just pulled my daughter round the field on her skis behind the Landrover cos that's what her dad would have done. So hard being mum and dad but so rewarding to be told by her that I am doing a good job. Read daily but rarely post. Just felt the need to today. Lost my husband last April, struggling a bit at the moment. Love to all. Jill.

Re: Snow
I hate the snow. I lost Jack on 22nd December 2010, there was a lot of snow about then. I was terrified most of that month because I knew he was nearing the end, and wanted to be at home but it was a horrible ending (lung cancer). I registered his death on the Christmas eve, snow was everywhere and i was full of despair. Still am, but not as much.

Re: Snow
We used to go walking locally in the snow because it was so picturesque. David would be armed with his camera (and me too). It was the artist in him and he would always look for 'that' picture. We used to muck around as well and throw snowballs at each other. Wonderful memories.

I've also got snow memories from Lapland when we went there for his youngest son's wedding. We were there for 4/5 days and it was a winter wonderland - more wonderful memories.

It's these memories and many more which help to keep us all going. Love to all xxxx

Re: Snow
Me too.

i've been out with my daughter throwing snowballs, building a snowman, digging out the drive, having sledge rides down the road.Basically trying to have the kind of fun we would have all had together, but nothing could take away the sadness in the pit of my stomach.
