about Kate.
Was thinking, would it be more effective and better if we could organise it that besides the recommended honour so richly deserved we could have the one letter and all of us signed it, is it possible ?

Re: about Kate.
Sounds like a good idea Bette. Did you have any thoughts on the how?
Could we perhaps post the letter online then once we agree on the content someone could print it, sign it and post it to another person to sign then they'd pass it on to another person etc etc, Or is that silly and unmanageable?
Just a thought.

Re: about Kate.
To generate several letters, and show how widespread MW is, maybe we can generate a letter per county or area. For example, people going to a meet-up in Devon could agree to sign one letter, people in Scotland do another, S. Wales, N Wales, another and so on. I'd be happy to co-ordinate an overseas one, if that helps. If anyone in a country other that UK wanted to send a letter c/o me, I could put them all together with a nomination form and covering letter and mail it all in. Does that sound like the way to go about it?

Re: about Kate.
Sounds feasible the way Pauline suggests .
lets wait to see what other suggestions may be forth coming,
We do have some brainy ones in this team,
not me ,but will happily comply to whatever seems the best method, do think that a lot of us together will show how many of us have been saved on Kates forethought and her book, time to stand up and be counted in her recognition and continuing support, cheers to a worthwhilew project brought to our attention by Debbie, bless the lass. love Bette xx

Re: about Kate.
The online petition was raised a bit ago in relation to Sheila Hancock and I think someone said it could not be done that way - we shall have to research it.
Either way I am happy to be a mailbox at this neck of the woods and to act as a co-ordinator of sorts.
What we need now is someone to organise us.
Jane - y ou do PR - can you help on this?

Re: about Kate.
Perhaps you should look at:
http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Governmentcitizensandrights/UKgovernment/Honoursawardsandmedals/DG_067917
This tells you how to go about nominating someone for an honour.

Re: about Kate.
Funny thing is that Kate will be aware of this already, since she is reading our posts isn't she?
Nevertheless, it doesn't matter. I love the idea and definitely want to be part of it.

Re: about Kate.
Sorry, but i don't think Kate deserves an MBE. Yes she has been good and helpful but how many others go unnamed and unrecognised in relation to services they provide for those in need, . Lets face it - MW is there but doesn't answer or solve problems. In essence its a forum for a collective with a shared problem/grief. Sorry to sound selfish!
