One of my friends is going to host an Ann Summers party for me - thereby avoiding the embarrassment of purchasing anything vageuly electrical from the shop and having a good night with close girl friends.
Think Kate mentions somewhere in her guide (DIY - the other sort) and there is a link to a site where such "things" can be purchased.
The chapter in the guide also makes good reading.

Hi Anon, can recommend the Ann Summers online. They package things in just normal white jiffy bags, with no logos on it. The details on the bank statement are simply Ann Summers Ltd, which seeing as they sell lovely underwear anyway, I had no problem with that appearing on my bank statement! The rampant rabbit has good reviews! The only down side is it doesn't give you a cuddle afterwards or say it loves you, but needs must sometimes. It's about the only option open unless you want to drag men in off the street, which Kate doesn't recommend in her book - even though tempting!
Just realised, if you're a man Anon, the above advice is probably of no help at all!

I don't feel the need for stuff from Ann Summers, I can do the necessary without! - but its the hugs and caresses and kissesand touching and loving that go before and after it that make it meaningful and are so achingly missed.

I think widows must be very scary I look at husbands of friends and they look very nrevous when left alone with me. Don't know if they think I fancy the pants off them or they are worried I don't fancy them at all, which in general is definitely the case. It really is about intimacy and having someone who knows you and what you want bugger having to do it all alone. One of the last things Grant said to me when we were told any day now, was better have a goodbye bonk , didn't happen he was too sick but it was nice to know he still fancied me even then.

Oh yes sex...... shall I tell you a story. Actually got to have sex with a beautiful man three weeks ago and I can definately tell you it was wonderful. Not so much the sex but the holding each other and hugging, kissing was so nice. Don't want to make you all jealous but it hasn't happened again since - poor guy is probably scared of me now!! Because my hubby was sick we hadn't had sex for a long time and it didn't really bother me till this guy came along - he awoke this amazing sexual desire in me.
Have bought myself a friend (tool) but not used yet, nothing can compare to the real thing I think anyway.

Curious - The clue is in the name - 'buddy', means a friend...i.e. someone you know already. Someone who 'advertises' would be an escort or a hooker!!!

I dont think so! escorts/hookers you pay for.....i'm sure there are many people you can meet for no-strings-sex but FREE sex!! , internet, advertisement whatever. i think the point about a FB (see, i am shy!) is that its more than a one night stand but less than a relationship. I dont think you necesarily have to be friends with the person beforehand. personally, its the relationship part of things I miss.

hmmmm. Has anyone had to sit there gritting their teeth while friends moan on about how their husbands want sex but they don't? Several people have offered to loan me their partner. Perhaps I ought to call their bluff. Unfortunately no George Clooney lookalikes .
