One more hurdle jumped
Just been into the garage and its empty. My lovely friend's husband came and took Paul's half finished kit car away last night.

He was so sensitive about it and just got on the did it.

I had a wee cry when I saw the empty space, but today I have been sweeping it out as the boys want it for a den.

Its one more hurdle jumped I guess.

God how I miss him, dirty overalls and all!

I can identify with you Linda! My husband was going to build a three wheeled sports kit car using the engine and chassis of a Citroen 2CV. I still have everything in the garage and all his tools and sets of car magazines etc etc etc.

Strangely the very model he wanted to build was taken off the market just a few months before he died (niether of us knew at the time as he was busy with DIY on our house). I was glad it wasn't available it seemed right somehow. I just feel very sad that his project was never finished

I used to feel so sad being out in his garage (it is an extra one set back in the garden and very large), but now I have tidied it up and know where the tools I might mange to use are kept it feels ok. One day I will get round to finding a good home for things my 4 sons or I cannot use. I am glad your friend helped you it is tough isn't it. They are only things but dificult to deal with!

I hope your boys enjoy their den.

love

Dear Linda and Andrea

Four weeks after Alan's death I gave his beloved motorcycle to his cousin - since the motorcycle was way too big for me to ride. The cousin managed to get personalized plates for the bike, with Alan and my names on the plate. He emailed me pictures and wrote "whenever I go riding, the two of you ride with me. I am glad I have a full face helmet, because anyone who could see me talking to Alan the whole time I ride would think I have gone mad."

I hope that someone will finish the cars, and that you will feel joy (and a bit of sadness) when you see them.
