patience is a virtue, sarcasm is not. Insanity is inevitable
I went to the meeting with the SS. There were no special effects. I didn't get cross, I didn't cry.
They all agreed How Very Difficult Katie Is. Like I hadn't noticed??
Such perception!
I suppose I should be grateful really. It could have been like when Bobby Ewing came out of the shower! He wasn't dead at all, Pam had just been having a dream! So, my daughter really is difficult then?
My mum always told me that sarcasm is the lowest form of wit, and that 'one day I would wake up with me throat cut cos me tongue is so sharp'. So I bit my tongue.
We are back to where we were a few months ago. They will have her back, providing they can get extra staffing, but first they need to get extra funding for the extra staffing. (There's A Hole In My Bucket, Dear Liza..............).
No, I have not got a magic wand to wave and make her better. No, I can't promise that she will stop misbehaving. The only assurance I could offer is that I have had enough. I want day care that can meet Katie's needs, and the transport to get her there. I cannot cope if they keep expecting me to go and collect her when she is being challenging. I cannot cope with them 'withdrawing transport with immediate effect'. That is what I told them. I really wanted to tell them that Katie was only born to spite them!, but I bit my tongue again.
They looked at me blankly. At this point I was sorely tempted to do what a good friend suggested to demonstrate my state of mind. Stand up halfway through the meeting, say 'Excuse me', and proceed to wee in the wastepaper bin!!
It could have been worse. At least they did not refuse to have her back at all. I just have to be patient for a while longer.
Right I am off to find pants to put on my head and pencils to stick up my nose. And a basket to wee in.................

Re: patience is a virtue, sarcasm is not. Insanity is inevitable
so, all in all, the sssb's just wanted some respite, well don't that beat all, helllooooo, why can't they sort it out once and for all. it is your basic human rights that they are infringing on, they have a duty of care to your daughter so therefore are playing silly buggers with her and you, tell them next time they refuse to have her, you will be dropping her off on their doostep whilst you sign yourself into the local mental hospital with a breakdown caused by stress which they have caused because they can't cope, puhlease are they not trained to deal with difficult challenging behaviour, they chose their profession i believe, you did not choose for your daughter to be born with disabilties. the sssb's
hugs to you both pinkyxx

Glad it went quite well, there shouldn't be any excuses re the funding as it's the beginning of the financial year, come to think of it that may be one reason why they've held out about Katie 'till today.
Well done Jane, it looks as if you coped with the meeting successfuly .Better than I did when the district nurses told me it was a waste of their resources to pay a daily visit to my blind almost immobile mother in order to gave her an insulin injection, which only takes a few minutes, can't think why that nurse always gives me the cold shoulder after my response to their waste of resources, especially as I've done that job myself.
Prehaps the staff at Katies, centre should all be given a special course on how to look after young adults with special needs as they obviously find it difficult, you could give one of the lectures.
Have a bacardie now in honour of your success if not done so already

As I said Jane the wheels of the SS turn exceedingly slow -why do today what you can put off til tomorrow. I hope Katie is a little calmer now.
Have to say a vision of you weeing in a bucket made me laugh out loud -in sparkly shoes of course.
It's a year for me tomorrow and overall (just typed overarse) I feel quite positive. Matbe it's the pino grigio blush off course

Uh hum, far be it for me to put my spoke in Jane but patient for what may I ask.
I reckon you have the patience of a saint so why didnt they make a decision there and then. Assumingly you were chatting to the decision makers or is there someone still higher you can contact.
Still angry for you and Katie Jane. You are both still in limbo because of those blank faced idiots. What happens now - nothing has changed. I would call them by the end of the week, surely thats long enough to employ a carer or two.

Re: patience is a virtue, sarcasm is not. Insanity is inevitable
Hi Jane,
So the ssb's have agreed to take her back - well how good of them!! How on earth did you manage to keep calm - your halo must now need a good polish.
Be proud of yourself for dealing with the situation with such dignity - would have been funnier though if you had used the basket. Would they have noticed since they are so far up their own arses!!
Stay cool , take care, Claire xx

So the SSB's have relented and decided to take Katie back....what really nice lovely people they are......aren't they just the bee's knees! Really, how kind are these sick sadistac po-faced shitless......no I'm going to my calm place now for you......can I borrow your bin for a wee pee so I can go throw it at them.....the bastards!
Who do they think they are?
Jane I applaud your calmness....and your dignity at having to put up with these morons and I'm behind you all way.
Keep on their backs until you get your respite back....keep pestering them.
D'ya want the Weegie Mafia to come see to them? If so, I'm sure Matt n Lynne will oblige lol
