The memorial service was today
Today I had a memorial service for my beloved Jayce. I had been feeling quite low and spent most of my energies angry at the way I was treated by his family at the funeral.

Today, our friends, his colleagues and other members of his family had a memorial service for him.

We spent the afternoon talking about him and remembering him very fondly. The man he had become. It still hurts that he is not there but it felt good to have people talk about the man that I knew and could recognise some of the things said about him.

To all those who responded to my earlier post and who are dealing with disenfranchised grief I think this is the best way to reclaim the good memories.

It's only five weeks and I know that there are bad days ahead but today I felt his presence in a very good way and I even managed a hearty laugh talking and listening to his friends.

It's ten before midnight and I'll sit here and remember this day as a first step towards my healing.

I had a good day today.

Hello Jamili

I remember your first postings.

I am so pleased for you that the memorial service was so good, and celebrated your partner's life as the people who really loved him knew him.

With all best wishes to you
Jenny

Nice one Jamili. I hope you continue on your journey towards healing with the comfort of the memories of yesterday's memorial. Disenfranchised grief......yes I know that one. It's devastating. Here's to better days and the people in or lives that understand and care about us.

I am so glad you had a good day yesterday. More good days will start to creep in now and again and you have to let them as they are the only respite from the rubbish ones.
Yesterday I went to the memorial cricket match for M, organised by a mutual friend and I almost enjoyed it. M's team lost - but then it was in keeping as M rarely played on a winning side!
Keep posting and take care x
