South West Meet Up
Im trying to pick up what was initiated by Caroline (Caro K) a week or so ago. Not sure if everyone saw the post.
South West Meet up - prob Chippenham area as thats where we met last time and it seemed to be the middle.
Im looking at the w/c Mon 28th July right up till the Saturday Aug 2nd.
Caroline, Tamara, Jayneks Ive had replies from and I know are interested and I know Lola cant make it. If anyone is interested post your details and the sooner we know whos in, the sooner we can arrange a def time and date. (Tamara can you ask Liz in case she doesnt see this message).

Saw your post re south west meet-up. Can't make the week you suggest, but Chippenham is a bit too far for me to drive anyway - I live in Gloucester and not confident to drive any distance!!
Maybe if something is arranged some time bit nearer to home, I could join you all.

Hi Jim
That is so kind of you to offer to pick me up. I am away the week you mentioned for a possible meet up, but if the offer still stands for another time......? I am on the Stroud side of Gloucester. I know I am such a wimp about driving, but my husband always did the "distance" driving and I just toodled about locally - and still do!

Hi all,
I live just outside Stroud (Nailsworth side) but I am not sure about this meet up business - at the moment anyway. Part scardy cat (wimp) and part not sure if it would help me.
However if Jenny or someone else in the area wanted to go I could probably help with transport and use it as an excuse to be there with you.
If that makes any sense.

i would love to come to a meet up. I live in a small village not far from Stroud but do not drive a car only a 125 scooter and not really happy about taking it to far...whimpy I know but Stroud is my limit!

Would love to hear from anyone who who like to meet up in the Stroud area.

The person who posted above you lives in your area so maybe she can give you a lift, I think shes offered as well and seeing as your in the same place it will make things that much easier.

I am a scardy cat, too, about meeting up with new people, but don't we have to bite the bullet?
Jim, how did you deal with the meet up in Chippenham? Also, there is another lady who lives in Greece, but is staying in Stroud at the moment and asked me to let her know by telephone (she has not got access to internet for now) if any meets arranged.
JayneKS, have you heard anything from Pat? Bit worried about her - no e-mail responses and she is not posting here?

Hi Jenny....How did I deal with the meet up in Chippenham? I think I went with an open mind is all I can say really. I didnt expect anything and I wasnt disappointed. The people I met were all very nice and we had a good chat about our various circumstances. We were all different ages, some with kids and all of us at different stages. It was good to meet and its so much easier to talk face to face.

Sorry Jim but I have to advise I am able to read a map, negotiate a roundabout and I have some prowess with hedgetrimmers therefore I am definately not a she.
And this is despite aforementioned prowess and unintentional stray cuts.
I also used to be able to multi-task and have no need for the shoppings listy. I am working on regaining these skills.
My phased return to work (oh joy!) and my sons kicking me off the PC are restricting my ability to post.

Hi Jim,
Sorry I've not responded before I think I must have missed the last post.
I think I could do Wed 30 or Thurs 31. My eldest two are going to my in-laws for a short break over those days. The only problem would be if my mum isn't available to babysit Immy but I'll cross that bridge when I come to it!
Anyway, count me in for the timebeing

Chris thanks for the offer of a lift that would be great.....But feel i must say I am a madd widder woman and I can read a map and work oit how to go around a roundabout but he hedge trimmer has me totally confused!

Hi All with a special note to Chris!
If you do meet up week after next, I am sorry I won't be able to be there as I am away, as I have already mentioned to Jim.
However, don't forget me for future meets as I would like to be there to give ChrisJ a good slap for his comment on women reading maps, etc!!!!! I know all about your hedgetrimmer incidents, Chris - I am Jenny whose secret incident with a cut hedgetrimmer cable was revealed in another post (Thanks Gentlemen) - although Another Kate swore is was not she who let out my secret!
As you have had so much experience in repairing cut hedgetrimmer cables, perhaps you could tell me how to fix mine if we ever met up at future meets?

Thanks for picking this up again Jim I have been away with work and no access to internet so abit out of the loop. I can make both of Elizabeths suggestions the only day I wouldn't be able to do would be the Saturday.

Hi all....
What about Thursday 31st July at 8pm at the same place we met last time unless anyone else has got a better suggestion. Its just that it seemed fairly middle for everyone and the access was pretty good in terms of driving there.

Suggestion for Short Stroud meet-up....Come to Waitrose to do your shopping and meet up in the cafeteria this Monday (21st) at 2:3Opm...I'll be wearing black trousers and a blue shirtwaister top.
Hoping to see Jayne, Jenny, Chris , Pat and any more who can make it.
I won't get internet access again before then so if there's no one there I'll wait again..same time on the Thursday !!

Could not make Monday 2lst, but perhaps Thursday. Where is Waitrose in Stroud? And is there plenty of room to park for someone who is not very confident driving out of her local comfort zone?

Ladies...Can i make a suggestion without treading on your toes. What about exchanging email addys and then arrange as you need to. Or setting up another post otherwise I think this will get very confusing for people with 2 meetings being arranged on the same set of posts.

Well, Jim, sorry to rattle your cage! However, Trish does not have access to regular e-mail at the moment. She actually lives in Greece and posts from there, but at the moment she is in Stroud visiting her mother, and therefore e-mailing is a bit tricky.
I can't see that Trish putting up a suggestion of a meet in Stroud on your original post will cause any confusion to the intelligent folks who use this site!
Have a lovely time on your meet in Chippenham.

We're all in the same boat facing simialr issues day in and day out and we might even meet up some day and if we did I would want us to meet on good terms.
