ashes update
his ahes are back home now his father and the minister came there was a prayer said it was lovely.the flowers from the funeral were there too.after the family went however i went in and cried my eyes out but i'm glad he's home with a photograph of him on topof the casket somewhere where i could talk to him a focus for me .he also told me to throw the cards away and start to get on with my life .so that's what i'm going to do

Hi Celia,
Its Tina again, I had a call about Andys ashes today, the casket I had chosen isn't actually large enough to fit him in! He was a large man, but gentle with it...........so i've got to go and choose something a bit larger, I am a bit apprehensive about having him home again, but its something I want to do and all the people i've spoken to have said that it will bring me some comfort, also I didn't want to make any rash decsions as to what to do with him just yet, my auntie lost her husband some 10 yrs ago and she still has his ashes, anyway Celia hope your having an OK day if you have trouble contacting Kate let me know and i'll leave you my e-mail take care

Hi Celia,,
My Brian's ashes are in a nice urn in the sitting room with me. I write him letters and put them under the urn, and sometimes I yell at him for leaving me behind.
I have thought about scattering the ashes, but am not ready, so he'll just stay here with me for a while longer.

richard's ashes are in the other room i couldn't bear seeing them all the time i'd be howling all day but when i want comfort andwant to see him i can go and talkto him i also keep the freezer and dvd's in that room so i go in about 4 times a day i always say good morning and night to him i've put his aftershave on the casket and a photo of him on top so he feels so close to me and still speaks to me i know what he wants he puts ideas in my head

I'm glad you are so comforted to have his ashes home with you. For me it felt the right thing to do as well and I think having the photo and talking to him is a lovely idea. 8 months on and I talk to Andy all the time sometimes in my head and sometimes out loud. Feels like he's still with me and is still helping me.
Be good to yourself Celia and be proud of getting through each day. Don't think too far ahead if you can, you're doing well just one day at a time.
